Peoria Public Library brings literacy to a new audience via the StoryWalk in Peoria!
Enjoy beautifully illustrated storybooks as you stroll our grounds – a perfect family friendly activity. Linger. Bring a picnic.
Peoria Public Library has StoryWalks® at three of our five locations – McClure, Lincoln and North branches. Open year round, our StoryWalks® will always have a rotating variety of storybooks so there is something new and exciting to read on return visits.
McClure Branch – Nestled under shade trees along a winding paved path, Peoria’s original StoryWalk® is located in Columbia Park, a pocket park surrounded by neighborhoods in the city’s core and just steps from the historic 1930s-era McClure Branch of Peoria Public Library. McClure was given local landmark status by the city of Peoria in 2014. Columbia Park also features a children’s playground, open grassy area and picnic tables.
Current Featured Title: A Bad Case of Stripes by David Shannon
Lincoln Branch – Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Peoria, this StoryWalk® lines the edges of the vast grounds at Peoria’s only Carnegie Library. Lincoln Branch was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in May 2014, adding this honor to the local landmark designation the branch received before its expansion began in 2012.

North Branch – Our most recent StoryWalk® starts in our back patio garden and winds along the edge of our prairie grass paths.
